We call this fruit guinep in Jamaica.
We too call it Guinep in Guyana but pronounce it as 'Guinip'.
In Grenada we call this skinup
In Puerto Rico we call it quenepa.

it look like most caribbean countries call this guinep or similar names like kinip or quenip. only stupid trinidad call it chenete. and ackee?? im just gonna ignore that.
For us as kids, being of Puerto Rican and Jamaican decent, this fruit was considered to be a “right of passage” as you could only eat them when you were “old enough” and the fear of accidental choking had passed. I can smell the memories of them.
