noun The loggerhead kingbird is a species of bird in the Tyrannidae family (Tyrant flycatchers). It is found in the Bahamas, Cayman Islands, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Haiti, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, and, very rarely, in the United States. It has a reputation for being territorial and aggressive. It is often seen attacking larger birds such as hawks and vultures. It will even attack humans - particularly in defence of nesting areas.
