This is the official bird of the US Virgin Islands. We call it the "Yellow Breast".

In the Virgin Islands, backside is other wise known barna, bottom or behind. It is usually used in a phrase something like,"you betta get yo backside from ya!"

"Chook" can also be used to refer to getting an injection, as in "di nurse had to chook mi".

This is an interjection as in "Deh man, wha mek you don\\\'t move fram ya?" It is not really referring to any person and is used just like "mehson".

In the Virgin Islands, dem is used to make a plural like in "mangoose-dem". It is also used to associate people and form a plural from one person's name such as "Lisa-dem" or "Lisa an dem" meaning "Lisa and the rest of the group" or "Lisa and the family".

In St. Thomas, this is called, "tamon" In St. Croix, it is "taman or tambran".
