The meaning of bobolee seems to have changed over the years. I was born in the 1940's. Back then, a bobolee was a stuffed effigy of JUDAS which was tied by the neck and dragged through the streets on GOOD FRIDAY, usually followed by youths with sticks, beating it until it fell apart. Hence the sayings "they beat him like a bobolee", or " he get licks like a bobolee", when someone was beaten up. The current synonyms seem to lean toward someone who is taken advantage of because he or she is not smart or lovestruck.

this sucky guy on SBR has this as his email and his name is supposed to be brian lee or something and his email is bobolee...i think its like his nickname so i'm not too sure he knows what the true meaning of the word is though. And looking at how he plays metaknight, he truly is a bobolee.

A bobolee is someone that is taken advantage of and powerless to defend against the attacker.  Thus a boss from hell (bully) takes advantage of an employee (bobolee).Â

Everyone is right especially the oldder man, it is also about making a depiction of someone or something that's a burden to you, your community, country or the world.

It refers to Judas but not the betrayal part , the taking licks part , for betraying Jesus, ppl beat the Judas (Bobolee) very bad , so when you think you getting beaten whether mentally or physically , you are considered a "bobolee" by others or even by yourself , consider that you ask yourself the question if indeed you are a Bobolee for letting ppl take advantage of you.
