A dessert item similar to bread pudding that is made with flour, sugar, and some or all of the following in any combination: cassava, coco, sweet potato, cornmeal. It is cooked by wrapping the mixture in leaves or cloth and boiling.
Flour is not the primary ingredient. It may be used as a binding ingredient, however,in any traditional versions, no flour is used. No version of Dukunu taste like or looks like bread pudding. In St. Vincent and the Grenadines, the primary ingredient is sweet potatoes.
