I am from Panama and in the Caribbean side of the country the english speaking communities also call the vultures "YanKro" suposedly as a corruption of "Giant Crow"

Jankro is also a name of a god given by some Nigerians to their unseen cult god, this confraternity in Nigeria is represented by a merciless vulture and that must be ''Jankro''
