A green fruit bearing on plants up to 6 ft tall. The fruit are fingerlike with a pentagonal cross section and taper to a long point. It is often cooked by boiling or steaming and in some areas is regarded as an aphrodisiac.
In Guyana this is okra or okro (aka ladyfinger) but is NOT callaloo. Callaloo is the stewed vegetable dish made with eddo leaves or spinach and/or okra among others. Some Guyanese consider the leaves of eddoes to be "real" callaloo's key ingredient and refer to the eddo leaf itself as callaloo while other leafy greens like spinach used in the same way are considered substitutes.

This is Ochro/okro in GT. It's very slimey so we would add lemon/lime juice in it to get rid of the slime. Also good to wash your hair with 😊.
