Many years ago while a practicing alcoholic, I was visit St Croix and a local friend told me about the Babash. I was in a bar I will not name and when they poured the shot, it came from a concealed bottle hidden beneath a mock other bottle- right on the back shelf. When I got the shot, it smelled of pure cane and molasses. Locals always watch the Americans drink it since most can't. Loved it.

Rum head you must’ve been at the dominoe club in st.croix.. I lived there for numerous years and Norma would serve you only 2 shots per day. The Bataan as the best in the Caribbean !
Rip,you speak of the Domino Club, do you remember George & Cynthia? George would push the babash while Cyn kept the Johnny cakes coming...best scotch bonnet sauce anywhere!
One shot of babash and I left the play ground zip up everything roll on de ground and never knew who took me home. but I know one thing no more babash for me
