The fruit of Attalea maripa, commonly called maripa palm which is a palm native to tropical South America and Trinidad and Tobago. This fruit is yellow and edible that is oblong ovoid and cream. An edible oil can be extracted from the pulp of the fruit and from the kernel of the seed.

A preparation of pulses (dried beans) or yellow peas which have been stripped of their outer hulls and split.

A roti with a stuffing of ground yellow split peas (dhal), cumin (geera), garlic and pepper. The split peas are boiled until they are tender crisp and then ground in a mill. The cumin is toasted until black and also ground. The stuffing is pushed into the roti dough, and sealed. When rolled flat, the filling is distributed within the roti. It is cooked on the tawah and rubbed with oil for ease of cooking.

A dessert item similar to bread pudding that is made from any combination of cassava, coco, sweet potato, or cornmeal along with flour, sugar and spices like nutmeg and cinnamon. The mixture is traditionally wrapped in leaves (banana or taro) or cloth and then boiled until cooked.

Ziziphus Mauritania; A small round berry about 3/4 inches in diameter. The fruit is green and turns yellow as it ripens. Ripe fruit may occasionally develop a rust brown colour and a cracked texture. The unripe fruit is firm and slightly acidic, and grows softer and mushier when it ripens. The berries have a single hard seed.

The tree and fruit of Terminalia catappa. It is a large tree (up to 115ft in height), often grown for ornamental purposes and the shade provided by its broad leaves. Parts of the fruit are edible, including the inner seed which resembles almonds in shape and taste.

Fruit of the Chrysobalanus icaco,which is a shrub or bushy tree, rarely 10 metres tall. In late summer it bears fruit in clusters, that of the coastal form being round, up to 5 cm in diameter, pale-yellow with rose blush or dark-purple in color, while that of the inland form is oval, up to 2.5 cm long, and dark-purple.

Carambola; A fruit with a star shaped cross section. As it ripens it turns from green to yellow. The fruit has a tart taste and is a good source of vitamin C.
